Three Good Things (3GT) is a way of practicing gratitude. The idea is simple: write down three (or more) things that went well for you today. These could include accomplishments, social outings, good meals, happy moments, or really anything positive. List the good things in as much or as little detail as you want. I generally do it right before I go to sleep. The idea is to make a habit of recognizing and reflecting on the good things that happen in your life on a daily basis.

I learned about 3GT following a particularly traumatic event in my life. It's an exercise recommended by psychologists, but I encourage everyone to try it. Throughout many difficult periods, I have practiced 3GT daily to keep me going. It has a more significant positive impact on my mental health than anything else I've tried, and it only takes a few minutes.
